Job Summary

The Behavioral Health and Intervention in Lieu of Conviction (IILC) Clinician is an independently licensed clinician who provides assessments and treatment for individuals referred to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas’ IILC Program and ongoing clients at Greenleaf Family Center. This role includes conducting psychosocial assessments, diagnosing and treating mental health and substance use concerns, and managing referrals related to substance use, mental illness, intellectual disability, human trafficking, or compelled prostitution.

This role typically involves 30 hours in the courthouse and 7.5 hours in the office weekly. The IILC Clinician represents Greenleaf Family Center externally, maintaining professional, responsive communication with Judges, Court Administrators, and other stakeholders. This role requires discretion, independent decision-making, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to determine IILC program eligibility.
  • Provide up to 15 assessments per week for referred individuals.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and on time, meeting certification standards and funding requirements.
  • Schedule and manage referrals promptly, ensuring appointments are within 10 business days of receipt.
  • Complete Point of Entry (initial intake) for new clients and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
  • Document all collateral contacts (e.g., communication with other professionals, family members) promptly.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness of diversity in all interactions.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships within and outside the organization.
  • Participate in Professional and Organizational Quality Improvement (PQI) initiatives.
  • Attend staff meetings, required training, and actively participate on committees as assigned.
  • Maintain certifications and skills in crisis de-escalation, first aid, CPR, and other agency-required training.

Required Qualifications

  1. Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work
  2. Credentials: Must possess/maintain an independent license to practice (LPCC/LISW)
  3. Experience diagnosing and treating mental health and substance use disorders.
  4. Ability to work effectively and patiently with a diverse population.
  5. Commitment to organizational mission and service to the community.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Proficient in Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working with justice systems. 
  2. 5+ years of clinical experience
