Mental Health Counselor

Job Overview

Duties

• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Provide direct patient care, including monitoring behavior and emotional well-being.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on therapeutic techniques such as art therapy.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess patient needs and progress.
• Support patients dealing with chronic pain through counseling and coping strategies.
• Engage with individuals with disabilities, ensuring their needs are met within the clinical setting.
• Participate in crisis intervention efforts to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care in both outpatient and hospital settings.

Requirements

• A background in mental health, psychology, or related fields is preferred.
• Experience or training in crisis intervention techniques is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with art therapy practices is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
