The Contract Therapist is responsible for providing best-practice therapeutic short-term counseling in-person, by phone, and via other communication devices and methods as appropriate for the circumstances to assess and provide trauma-informed services.
Accurate, timely, and complete documentation and follow-up is expected for applicable Crime Victim Services’ case files and for victims, victim support persons and staff, as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy or other applicable degree.
Licensed by the Ohio Counseling, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as an LISW or LPCC or IMFT.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with individuals impacted by trauma.
- Experience working with primary and secondary victims of crime.
- Understanding of rural and immigrant populations.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Provides in-person, short-term trauma informed individual, group and family therapy to primary and secondary victims of crime.
- Maintains a caseload of 2-4 clients per week, frequency of sessions based on the clients’ needs.
- Develops and writes treatment plans, clinical notes and various other documentation in therapist’s own secure documentation system.
- Provides crisis intervention, safety planning, information/referrals to victims of crime as needed.
- Travels to Crime Victim Services’ Putnam County Office to provide in-person counseling to clients.
- Maintains required licensures, registrations, credentials, and certifications.
- Provides regular invoicing for services based upon an agreed upon schedule by Contractor and Crime Victim Services.
- Communicates with staff regarding referrals made and any appropriate information that clients wish to be shared for follow-up regarding case management or community referral needs.
Contract Pay: $50-$75/session based on experience.
Required Background Checks: child abuse registry, criminal history, FBI and BCI fingerprinting.
